Job Description Assistant Managers drive sales, services and
customer engagement in the store and ensure the store is ready for
business. You and your team will establish customer relationships
that build loyalty, provide total solutions to meet customer’s
needs and grow the business. You will guide your team in being

Develop team to deliver results through coaching, training, and
role playing \n Attain sales and services goals, profit margin and
execution of store operations \n Establish business cadence for
sales readiness \n Provide direction daily for merchandising
opportunities within the store \n Assist with delegating
operational tasks in partnership with the GM \n Shared
responsibility for total store operations and cost control as well
as acting as the Floor Leader \n Champion company initiatives,
being adaptable and flexible to change and responsibilities \n \n
Essential skills and experience: \n \n 2 years managing a sales
team in a retail or services industry \n Experience managing and
coaching a team in a customer-centric, solutions-based environment
\n Must be able to engage and speak to customers and understand
their needs \n Strong communication, organization, planning and
adaptive to changing business priorities \n Review results against
business goals and strategies and deliver plans for growth and
improvement \n Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational
and cooperative manner \n Ability to act with honesty and integrity
regarding customer and business information \n Ability to work
cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment
\n Ability to lift/move materials in the 10 - 50 pound range, climb
ladders, stand and walk continuously \n \n Preferred skills and
experience: \n \n Experience using financial metrics to track sales
progress to drive profitable sales and margins \n Ability to
network and engage with the community \n \n Staples does not
