assets is crucial for our customers and is the primary focus of the
Aftermarket team.The Instrument Repair Service Technician provides
crucial remote support (phone, email, augmented reality) and repair
services for our customers.Job Responsibilities:
- In-house repair of customer equipment. This includes processes
for RMA (Return Material authorizations) creation, cost
estimating/quoting, customer consultation, diagnoses, and
preparations for return shipment.
- Strive to continuously improve KPIs (RMA turnaround, Promise
Date Service Level, First Time Fix Rate) and overall customer
satisfaction as measured in customer surveys.
- Increase capacity for RMA workflows via process improvements
and fixture development.
- Provide remote support and training (phone, email, video) for
customers and channel partners on AMETEK Process Instruments
equipment.
- Process spare parts orders
- Occasional field service work as needed, typically with a field
service specialist. This may involve overnight travel.
- Additional duties as required commensurate with the position
and skill level. Job Requirements:
- Minimum High School education or equivalent.
- AS Degree in electronics, equivalent military training, or
prior work experience with a solid understanding of
electronics.
- Understanding of basic chemistry is a plus.
- Must be capable of troubleshooting analog, digital,
microprocessor electronics, and vacuum systems.
- Must be familiar with the use of required test equipment
including test rigs, calibration equipment, DVM, Oscilloscope,
soldering iron and associated wiring/mechanical tools.
- Must be capable of handling tools and material as heavy as 75
pounds.
- Must be capable of performing job duties outdoors requiring
exposure to weather conditions.
- Must be available and capable of traveling by air, land and sea
via commercial means.
- Ability and willingness to learn how to service existing and
newly-released AMETEK PI equipment.
- Must be achievement-oriented and enjoy taking on challenges,
even in adverse situations
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Must be a team player. This position will work closely with the
AMETEK Process Instruments Field Service, Sales, and Operations
team. Due to AMETEK's participation with third party health and
safety organizations (covering safety, training, and drug & alcohol
program administration), all service colleagues may be required to
register with AMETEK's partnering organizations to facilitate
servicing our customers.
