Description OUTSTANDING OPPORTUNITY WITH A GREAT SHOP! Client is
seeking a Programmer Analyst to support global operations. As a
member of the business systems development team, you will be
responsible for performing requirements analysis, authoring design
documents, and developing applications and reports on a range of
business systems. Candidate will be evaluating applications and
processes to identify opportunities for improvement, in order to
achieve business goals and objectives. To that end, you will often
engage in projects that require the development of new applications
and the modification of existing systems. This role will be a
liaison between end users and the IT team, to help ensure that the
deliverables of the projects meet the desired business needs. Work
with end users and IT team members to define business requirements,
software specifications, applications and workflow processes. Serve
as the project leader for various initiatives, but will also need
to serve as a hands-on team member in a variety of technical
functions such as application developer, report writer, and
process/systems implementer. Candidate will have the unique
opportunity to assist various functional groups by providing
actionable insight on business metrics and performance.
Additionally, candidate will be expected to grow your knowledge of
Company systems in order to participate in multiple levels of
computer application and development, following the principles of
SDLC; including analysis, design, requirements definition,
development, coding and testing, implementation, training,
maintenance and product support. Additionally, as a supportive IT
team member, you will also assist with the resolution of business
systems related operational issues. Essential Duties &
Responsibilities: Work with end users and management to identify
and document business requirements Perform requirements elicitation
and analysis via user groups, interviews, research, etc. Analyze
business requirements and provide recommendation for system design
and continuous improvement Create design documents and proposals to
resolve system and business process issues Develop, deploy, and
support applications and systems based on approved design documents
Collaborate with other programmers to design and develop automated
business systems and reports Provide training to end users on
general ERP and application functionality and usage Implement
bar-coding systems at various warehouses and production facilities
Evaluate current and future business needs to recommend applicable
solutions to improve current systems Create, track, and maintain
detailed systems documentation, release notes, user instructions
and procedures pertaining to a variety of business requirements and
functional specifications Provide subject matter expertise on
software functionality and business processes Effectively
prioritize and execute in a high pressure environment Provide
issue/resolution support as required Education, Experience, and
Requirements BS in Information Systems or Computer Science
preferred Minimum 5 years of business/systems analysis and
application development/programming Minimum 5 years of direct
experience in ERP applications (manufacturing environment
preferred) Extensive, proven knowledge of ERP, MRP, inventory,
manufacturing, logistics, forecasting, and purchasing concepts
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with BPCS Manufacturing,
Sales & Distribution, Financial applications & general ERP
functional Knowledge Strong working knowledge of OS/400 Command
Language, RPG/400, RPGIV, RPG free, SQL/400, CL/400 Microsoft SQL
Server and related experience (SSIS, stored procedures, basic SQL
server administration) Expertise with MS Office (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Outlook, Project) Experience with barcode
implementation preferred Experience with other ERP platforms (e.g.
SAP, Oracle) a plus Experience with .NET programming languages a
plus Project management experience a plus Highly developed
interpersonal, professional written and verbal communication skills
Critical thinking ability and strong analytical skills to solve
poorly defined problems Design capability with business
intelligence software, e.g. Cognos, Qlikview/Qliksense, Tableau a
plus, or other visual analytical tools Experience supporting a
global, multi-location business a plus Experience in manufacturing
a plus, preferably in a lean environment Must be able to travel to
domestic and international locations Other duties as assigned
