MAIN FUNCTIONS:

• Coordinates furniture systems installation, inventory, storage and movement of materials to and from warehouse facility and various buildings and facilities located throughout NJ TRANSIT.
• Coordinates meeting room set-up and support, as well as support for special projects and initiatives as assigned.
• Leads the work of contracted project Facility Workers in the performance of light construction, maintenance and repair of electrical and plumbing fixtures and other building hardware and equipment.
• Conducts daily building inspections, and reports unsafe conditions, maintenance problems, service needs and occupant violations to Supervisor for documentation and follow-up.
• Assists Supervisor in the coordination of third-party contractors.
• Determines and maintains inventory of hardware, parts, tools and equipment for unit; maintains neat, clean, safe and orderly maintenance shop, ensuring that all materials and tools are stored in designated locations.
• Boiler Watch duty may be assigned.
  EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, and two (2) years experience in routine basic building maintenance and related support services (door hardware repair/replacement, light bulb replacement, ceiling tile repair/replacement, preparing areas for painting, painting of walls, water filter replacement, and minor carpet work.
  • Six (6) months of hands on experience in boiler operation and maintenance preferred.
  • Valid drivers license required.Black Seal Boiler license desired, but agrees to work toward obtaining certification.
