Job Description:

PLM provides distinctive Fleet Management solutions that help save customers time and money by allowing them to focus resources on core activities. The Telematics Product Specialist will be responsible for developing the PLM ColdLink - offering, a critical telematics platform at the core of PLM's evolving goal to deliver a world-class and distinctive customer experience. The individual will be responsible for defining and executing foundational PLM ColdLink - commercial support via training and updates, and management reporting and operational processes such, coordination of product installs, The role will serve as the primary business interface with telematics partners and other relevant technology suppliers that are required for product enhancements, expansion of PLM knowledge and use of the solution, deal fulfillment and the delivery of a service levels that exceed customer expectations. The role will report into the Personalized Customer Solutions (PCS) Lead. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct training and education sessions with headquarters, sales teams and customers to build product expertise. Develop material side-by-side with counterparts in Maintenance and Asset Management.
  • Continually assess effectiveness of the existing Telematics tools and reporting. Recommend improvements for further upgrade that will enhance the customer experience and PLM productivity.
  • Drive and coordinate the sales strategies to expand customer use and penetration of this value- added solution. Fully support revenue and business unit goals to grow telematics sales for both customer-owned and PLM lease deals.
  • Optimize the use of third party reporting tools and web interfaces to improve internal productivity and customer operations.
  • Lead New Product Introduction efforts related to the PLM ColdLink - platform. Coordinate with Project Management Office, as required, to advance initiatives and commercialize as part of the PLM Fleet Solutions value proposition.
  • Provide Sourcing with unit specifications based on customer requirements to initiate ordering process for unit installations.
  • Support the delivery and installation of new units to ensure proper equipment is in place on or before the customer promise date. Continually assess and support process improvements to reduce cycle time and customer down-time.
  • Coordinate with Asset Management, Contracts, National Accounts, Branch Managers and other functions to update customer profiles for accurate billing.
  • Partner with Fleet Operations Management and Internal Consulting to develop and produce value-add customer reporting from telematics data. Determine required fields and other information.
  • Serve as business liaison with third party service providers and equipment manufacturers to build and introduce new functionality.
  • Analyze inventory of active units to monitor for obsolescence, non-reporting units and opportunities to improve customer value and overall experience.
  • Participate in defining next generation development of PLM telematics product offering; includes strategic planning, and new product introductions.
  • Develop branch processes & standard operating protocols for telematics related activities.
  • Proactively identify key deliverables and deployment plants to achieve SMART Goals established by business leadership.
  • Ensure the effective implementation, integration, and execution of PLM's strategic plan initiatives.

  • Bachelor's degree - Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics, Mathematics, or related
  • Experience in an equipment leasing or fleet management company, a plus
  • Experience with telematics - data mining and statistical analysis, a plus
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn software quickly - software engineering, a plus
  • Ability to analyze data and derive and implement solutions to improve service experience.
  • Demonstrated strategic/critical thinking
