Job Description:
Work within Crum & Forsters IT Department that has the unique mix
of being part of a strong family of companies (Fairfax Financial)
and is continuously improving analready innovative Agile culture.
Operating out of our corporate offices in Morristown, New Jersey,
and ten regional offices, Crum & Forster distributes products
through approximately1,500 authorized retail and wholesale brokers
across the United States.We are looking for innovative, talented,
and self-motivated individuals who are interested in working with a
cross-functional team focused on productionsupport of our Business
Intelligence + Tableau + Cloud Data services team.You will play a
critical role in our highly visible and important Commercial Lines
team initiatives. You will support all levels of leadership for our
Agile culture(our people are expected to be autonomous, empowered
and self-managing). -What you will do: Perform the role of a Lead
BA for Business Intelligence team+ Tableau + Cloud Data
ServicesPlan and lead small projectsCoordinate with other
departments on the implementation of project as neededIdentify
project risks and potential resolutionsWork with the BI squad team
members to document the project's business requirementsPerform
comprehensive data analysisIdentify project stakeholders and user
classesElicit requirements using interviews, document analysis,
requirements workshops, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business
process analysis,use cases or user stories, scenarios, event lists,
competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysisDecompose
high-level business and user requirements into functional
requirementsPropose and implement business metrics for management
reviews and work with business intelligence and data engineers to
design and developdata infrastructure to support actionable items
from KPIsRepresent requirements using alternative views, such as
visual analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or simulations,
where appropriateParticipate in peer reviews and inspections of
requirements documents. Participate in peer reviews of work
products derived from requirementsspecifications to ensure that the
requirements were interpreted correctlyManage changes to baseline
requirements through effective and appropriate application of
change control processes and tools.Establish and implement
effective requirements practices, including the continuous
improvement of a requirements process. Assist with thedevelopment
of the organization's requirements engineering policies,
procedures, and tools.Identify ways to assist product management in
product planning through requirements development and analysis.
Propose new product featuresand updatesSizing tasks (using story
points and t-shirt sizing) to help planning, prioritization, and
tracking progressDemo Tableau dashboards and visualizations What
you will bring to C:5-7+ years of experience in business analysis
and or data analysisGood knowledge of InsuranceExperience in
Requirement Analysis, Business and Systems reviews and working
sessions to understand the requirements and system designInterview
SMEs and Stakeholders to get a better understanding of client
business processes and gather business requirements.Communicates
with all levels of organization including executive management as
well as customers and suppliers. Requires
professionalcommunications.Ability to work in an environment with
deadlines and shifting priorities.Experienced in developing data
quality related documentation, business processes, flowcharts,
working with varied computer systemsDevelop training materials and
specifications documentation for BI reports, dashboards, and other
outputsAbility to facilitate workshop sessions, develop process and
data flow diagramsGood presentation and demo skillsStrong
Analytical and Problem Solving skills - Identifies and resolves
problems in a timely mannerInterpreting data, analyzing results
using advanced techniques & submit findings and recommendations to
senior managementQuick validation of reports & dataProvide support
as required to ensure the availability and performance of
enterprise data and BI environments for both external and internal
users(-2000 business users)Ability to query the database using
SQLKnowledge of using Excel for data analysisAccess database
skillsData visualization skills would be a plusExperience working
with onshore/offshore teamsKnowledge of Agile(Kanban) concepts
would be a plusExperience using JIRA and Confluence would be a
plusGood knowledge of BI and ETL related technologies like SSRS,
Tableau, SSIS, Informatica and Data Warehousing would be a
