Job Classification:Investment Management - InvestmentsBusiness Overview:The Chief Investment Office (CIO) is responsible for the management of the investment portfolios of Prudential's General Accounts through its U.S. Portfolio Management, International Portfolio Management, Alternative Assets Group, and Global Hedge Management units. With over $400 billion in assets under management, the CIO Organization is responsible for asset/liability management, interest rate risk management, oversight and reporting on product investment margin performance and related capital markets hedging activities.Description:Our CIO Analyst Program is a three-year program with the potential for a two year extension & promotion in select cases. The Program provides exposure to multiple pockets of a dynamic organization while creating the opportunity for success and recognition through substantial and long-term business impact. You will work directly with senior management regularly to provide strategic solutions, innovative technical awareness and operational excellence to the business to enhance performance and efficiency. CIO is a major strategic partner to many other departments across the enterprise and relies upon a collaborative culture to effectively create both micro and macro solutions to the most interesting challenges at Prudential.As an Investment Analyst, you will be awarded with a well-rounded and robust experience which allows you to make an impact in the organization, in the community and in your personal development. You will be included in semi-annual meetings with the Chief Investment Officer and his direct reports to facilitate an ongoing dialogue across the organizational structure, communicate opportunities and challenges faced as analysts, and actively participate in structuring the future of the Investment Analyst Program. You will participate in ongoing training workshops, be aligned with a mentor to help guide you through your early career & help facilitate networking opportunities, and partner with our Corporate Social Responsibility team to lead efforts that strengthen our communities.This position is within the US Businesses team of the CIO which is responsible for overall asset/liability management, portfolio construction, and tactical and strategic allocation decisions for the portfolios supporting the Individual Solutions Group (ISG) and Workplace Solutions Group (WSG).Responsibilities: Provide analytical support to BU strategists for key business/product initiatives and transaction development activitiesAssist in providing input to investment assumptions that underlie successful product pricingSupport PMs in managing cash, liquidity, portfolio appetite, USB limit monitoring and special transactionsSupport USPM needs relating to transformation initiatives (e.g. implementation of the portfolio management system)Research asset class and sector relative value opportunities from a qualitative and quantitative perspectivePreferred Qualifications: BS/BA degree in (or demonstrated aptitude) a highly quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, business, engineering, economics, computer science, finance, accounting, or a similar quantitative subject areaAbility to develop complex data models in ExcelExposure to computer programming (any high-level language)Strong communications, analytical, organizational, and negotiating skillsExcellent structured problem solving and the ability to explain results (both oral and written)Ability to comfortably interact with internal and external partnersPrevious experience in finance, investments, credit analysis or fixed income is preferredWorking knowledge of Prudential's businesses and product offerings would be helpful.
