At the American Red Cross, your uniqueness can shine! The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Summer Intern within the Training Services Department to support the Aquatics Team. OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:The Aquatics Mission Specialist Intern will support the expansion of the Aquatics Centennial Campaign. Areas of focus will be setting up systems to document processes and establish standard mechanisms for progress and reporting, especially for use in presentations to leadership and donor stewardship. The intern will also assist in the envisioning of scalable processes around a pilot test for a mission-based, out-of-hospital cardiac arrest program in communities where disparities exist in outcomes. Support the project work of the Aquatics programs that will be underway, including Longfellow's WHALE Tales and the Swimming and Water Safety program. Areas of focus/learning will be on coordinating subject matter experts as content is developed.WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD:

  • Assist in activities related to maintenance of curriculum mapping for water safety and at all grade levels
  • Support coordination of mission opportunities with Red Cross chapters, specifically related to those with Red Cross Diversity partners and/or Centennial Campaign communities
  • Support research projects related to water safety/drowning prevention
  • Administrative support as required
  • Perform unit-specific responsibilities.Schedule: Normal Business HoursPay: The salary range for this position is $18.00.Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have, and comparison to other employees already in this role.WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:Education: High School or equivalentrequired. The internship is typically part of an undergraduate program which requires some university credit hours.
    Experience: Up to 1 year of related experience.
    Management Experience: N/a
    Skills & Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Ability to work on a team.
    Travel: Must be able to attend at least two meetings in New Jersey and Washington DC.
    * Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to the description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
