Job DescriptionPosition: Junior Position Type: PermanentLocation: Ledgewood, NJ Position Summary The Junior Buyer/Expediter is responsible for ensuring that the company receives all necessary components to fulfill the production schedule. The purpose of this job is to act as a coordinator between the Company and our suppliers to expedite the delivery of quality material in a timely and organized manner. The expediter will review the purchasing schedule and ensure that the suppliers deliver on time. Additionally, they will be responsible for the preparation, review, and tracking of purchase orders through the purchasing process.Our client offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including:

    • Expedites purchase orders as necessary and ensures THE on-time delivery of purchased items
    • Ensures that all material delivery schedules are communicated to the suppliers in a timely manner to meet planning requirements (confirm P.O.'s)
    • Checks scheduled delivery dates and makes contact with suppliers to prevent late deliveries
    • Escalates issues and notifies appropriate personnel
    • Develops and monitors KPIs related to purchasing
    • Communicates with suppliers about the status of the PO to reduce the impact of late shipments
    • Coordinates and expedites materials needed for the production schedule
    • Maintains Purchase Order delivery dates
    • Responsible for preparation of purchase orders and review of requisitions for materials and services
    • Measures suppliers for quality of service and delivery
    • Purchase high-quality items at the best possible price, in the appropriate quantities, and according to the specified delivery schedules
    • Reviews and issues purchase orders for assigned parts
    • Works closely with the Purchasing Manager to review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements
    • Builds and manages supplier relationships
    • Performs other duties or special projects as required or assignedWhat are we looking for?
      • 2+ years of purchasing/procurement experience
      • BA/BS degree required
      • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
      • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
      • Proficiency using MS Office particularly Excel
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with attention to detail
      • Ability to make strategic recommendations and take appropriate action
      • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
      • Attentive to detail
      • Excellent communication skills
      • Internal applicants must be in their current position 1 year before they are eligible
