Position Summary: The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the operation and supervision of vehicles used for truck operations. Education: High School Diploma, Vocational School Diploma or equivalency certificate, satisfactory completion of both the Basic and Advanced Wastewater Treatment courses, and satisfactory completion of the Advanced Wastewater Collections course, is required. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must be able to prepare concise and accurate reports, provide conclusions, and make recommendations. Must be able to assign appropriate tasks, as well as train and supervise staff working with wastewater and the collection, treatment and disposal of biosolids. Knowledge of the various laws, rules and government regulations pertaining to wastewater and biosolids collection, treatment and disposal, as well as the principles and methods used in the treatment and disposal of wastewater and biosolids is required. Must also have knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions required in the collection and treatment of wastewater and/or biosolids. Must qualify for and possess the ability to perform entry into Confined Spaces while wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), in compliance with PVSC---s Facial Hair Grooming Policy. Experience: Minimum eight (8) years--- experience in wastewater treatment with three (3) years in a supervisory role. Licenses and Certifications: A valid New Jersey Commercial Driver---s License Class B required; however, a CDL Class A is preferred. A valid New Jersey Collections System C2 license is required or must be actively pursuing a C2 license, a C3 license and a New Jersey S2 Treatment Plant License, is preferred. (Actively pursuing is defined as taking the associated State license exam at least 2 times per year until the license is obtained.) Working Conditions: Workers are employed in conditions associated with a wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system and required to work indoors and outdoors. Must be available for emergencies or job assignments on a 24 hour basis.
