Insp?r Senior Living, Maplewood Senior Living’s new brand of world-class, urban senior living properties, is now hiring a Senior Business Manager for its new Insp?r Carnegie Hill property.  Recently opened in March 2021, Insp?r Carnegie Hill is located on the Upper East Side and stands 23 stories with 215 residential units.  It offers assisted living, enhanced care, and memory care with a unique and innovative Integrated Care Model.

Hiring for a Full-time Senior Business Manager

The Senior Business Manager (BOM):  Responsible and accountable for financial accounting at Insp?r.  

  • Code all invoices for payment
  • Verify the appropriate approvals on all invoices that are submitted to Home Office for payment
  • Provide vendor information to accounting
  • Process weekly payroll
  • Batch weekly invoices for payment
  • Audit expense reports and petty cash reconciliations
  • Provide month-end close accruals to team accountant
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries in a timely manner
  • Adhere to the weekly accounting cycle
  • Monitor move-in and move-out activity through Yardi on a timely basis
  • Post ancillary charges/fees into the billing system
  • Assist General Manager in reviewing resident bills
  • Assist General Manager with resident file maintenance
  • Timely distribution of resident bills
  • Timely change of service input
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the components of an accrual basis financial statement
  • Analyzes variances in departmental payroll vs. budget
  • Understandings capital expenditure vs. financial statement expense
  • Analyzes revenue by product type
  • Assists the General Manager with the annual budget process
  • Assists General Manager with analyzing monthly financials and make recommendations for improvement
  • Pull hours from the time clock
  • Export pulled hours into payroll grid
  • Make necessary approved payroll edits in a timely fashion
  • Monitor and demonstrate control of employee time punches
  • Work closely with Department Heads and General Manager to manage usage of overtime
  • Export timesheets from the payroll system
  • Ensure proper recording into the payroll grid for payroll hours and dollars
  • Process changes in employee status (PCN form)
  • Monitor payroll check disbursements
  • Archive and discard payrolls at the end of each cycle
  •  Skilled in customer service and ability to resolve concerns and conflicts in a professional and timely manner
  •  Ability to effectively present information on one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization
  •  Maintains open communication with General Manager to ensure smooth operation of the community
  •  Communicates effectively with supervisor and other staff
  •  Advises supervisor and appropriate manager in any changes in physical and mental health of residents immediately
  • Carries out other duties as assigned by General Manager



  •  Associates degree in business or related field required; Bachelors preferred
  •  Three (3) to five (5) years office management experience
  •  Excellent customer service and public relations skills
  • Must possess a passion for working with the senior population and improving their quality of life
  •  Effective problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Work well in stressful, high-pressure situations and be able to maintain composure and objectivity   
  • Able to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers, and other staff members 
  • Must be authorized to legally work in the United States 
  • Criminal background check is required
