Overview

The Sr. Analyst, Contracts is responsible for the execution of the contract development process for the placement of rating service contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate and administer a variety of contract types, including commercial agreements, non-disclosure agreements and release agreements, using standard contract templates and internal standards
  • Implement the contract development processes to place contracts and track contract matters
  • Act as the primary client contact for contract development matters though the delivery of a positive customer focused experience
  • Liaise with various internal departments to ensure contract obligations are properly defined
  • Communicate these contract obligations to clients and coordinate client completion prior to contract placement which will include payment processing and sanctions screening activities
  • Work with business development account managers and internal team members to ensure compliance with policy, procedure and related controls
  • Participate in activities to enhance contract management tools and internal contract processes
  • Develop and assist in updating contract templates

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements within the financial services industry
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline required. JD or other advanced degree preferred;
  • Paralegal certification or professional contracts manager is a plus
  • Second language skill (Spanish) preferred but not required.

  • Must have experience negotiating commercial transactions within the financial services industry with a demonstrated ability to deliver on business requirements under tight time-lines Demonstration of an understanding of legal contract concepts and negotiation strategies Team player capable of multi-tasking on a large number of complex issues, however, can operate independently to complete required tasks Strong time management & communication skills with an attention to detail mentality Excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to client service and the ability to build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated high proficiency for correct spelling, grammar, tone, and syntax Advanced computer skills (e.g. expertise in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and contract management applications) Sound legal and business judgment Demonstrated experience and good judgment handling confidential material Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to deal confidently with internal and external customers at all organizational levels Ability to understand and explain risk in various scenarios
