Position Summary

The Inventory Lead is responsible for all aspects of maintaining an organized and accurate inventory at the Logistics Centers/Global Supply Chain Centers. All inventory additions and issues at the assigned center will flow through the Inventory Lead.

Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Recording the receipt in NetSuite when direct materials arrive
  • Logging receipts in NetSuite for indirect spend when requested to do so by a member of the Procurement Team (once the Procurement Team provides the necessary documentation)
  • Transferring inventory from receiving to the inspection location (system transaction) and making sure the inventory is in the correct physical location
  • Monitoring the inspection location to prioritize inspection requests to QA
  • Transferring inventory after a successful inspection to the proper inventory storage locations (system transaction and physical move)
  • Work with Procurement and the QA team to facilitate Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) for materials that do not pass the inspection process
  • Ensure rejected material is returned to the proper origin once the RMA has been processed
  • Keep the inventory in the storage locations in an organized, neat, orderly fashion
  • Ensure each location is marked with a legible bin location tag and part number tag
  • Create new bin location and part number tags and assign space as required
  • Perform weekly cycle counts and report results to the Procurement Team
  • Perform monthly inventory counts (as needed) and report results to the Procurement Team
  • Work with the Procurement Team on desired inventory levels, communicating when items are low on inventory as well as overstocked, to ensure Procurement is properly adjusting desired stocking levels for maximizing space
  • Pull, package and ship transfers to other locations as requested
  • Stock the shipping stations as required
  • Ensure the proper inventory transactions are completed when transferring or stocking the shipping stations to maintain the proper inventory counts in NetSuite
  • Communicate with peers at other Logistic Centers or Global Supply Chain Centers to make sure transfers are received, added to inventory, and putaway
  • Communicate to the Procurement Team regarding incoming materials to make sure they are meeting Cryoport's expectations from the supply base
  • Facilitate work orders that are created for assembly parts, both on the issuing side and the receiving side
  • May be required to perform the functions of a Logistics Center Technician, as needed

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years experience in inventory control
  • Experience in NetSuite or similar inventory management system
  • Solid experience using MS Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent math skills
