The Role at NFP

The Assistant Vice President will work within the SPAC & GPL team as a part of the Mergers & Acquisitions Risk Solutions vertical. Their general responsibilities will include working with the team to service and grow an existing book of business with clients. The Assistant Vice President is expected to be able to manage all aspects of our client service proposition, aligning with our clients on their specific strategies and needs in the insurance markets, and managing the available resources, product experts, and the technology platform used to service our portfolio of SPAC, Private Equity, Hedge Fund, Venture Capital and portfolio company clients.

This is a national role with client relationships and accounts throughout the country. You will be joining a tenured team of recognized industry experts that are known for their ability to deliver high-end, professional and technically strong advisory services to clients across the financial institution industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be detail oriented, able to work in smaller breakout teams well, in a fast paced environment, with attention to detail.
  • Must be able to travel and entertain key client relationships
  • Maintain all existing client relationships with a focus on growth (e.g., increasing amount or type of coverage, and/or products and services, for existing accounts) and retention.
  • Keep up to date on all account issues, industry and market trends and help develop growth strategy for targeted existing accounts to expand the book of business, when appropriate.
  • Offer technical advice and make informed recommendations leveraging product expertise, a comprehensive review of account needs and risks and colleagues with various appropriate specialties.
  • Work to ensure conditions, coverage and pricing are advantageous for the Company and the relationship with the outlook to institutionalize accounts and uphold business and compliance standards when representing the firm while offering customized solutions and completing proposal work.
  • Prepare renewal and new business proposals for presentation to client.
  • Responsible for maintaining and preserving relationships and ensuring overall service needs are met, addressing escalated issues and miscellaneous concerns to remain in positive standing and preserve credibility.
  • Maintain strong relationships with senior level professional counterparts in client organizations.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Excellent written communication skills - writes clearly; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numeric data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
  • Self-confident to make sound independent decisions
  • Ability to successfully interact with a variety of people/personalities
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Must be able to read, analyze and reconcile financial reports
  • Must have strong power point and presentation skills
  • Possess technical expertise plus good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle situations in a calm, courteous and professional manner

Education and/or Experience:

  • BA/BS preferred
  • 5 years of experience with management liability related products.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

  • Property & Casualty Broker's License required
