The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MIE) at
NJIT is searching for a highly-qualified, enthusiastic individual
who will serve as the Director of Robotics.
The Director will be the coordinator of robotics education
activities in the Newark College of Engineering. The individual
will coordinate educational robotics activities in the Newark
College of Engineering, including assistance with curriculum and
facility development, initiation and support of competitions and
workshops, support of robotics researchers and student groups, and
maintenance and operation of a newly built robotics and
manufacturing lab, housed in the Department of Mechanical and
Industrial Engineering. The position may require teaching of up to
2 courses per semester at the undergraduate or graduate level.
The Director of Robotics is expected to play a pedagogical and
leadership role, including active participation in course, lab and
program development; development and implementation of robotic
showcases and competitions; advisement of students and student
clubs; advisement of student design projects; and development,
maintenance, operation and supervision of lab facilities.
A Master of Science in a relevant field (such as Mechanical
Engineering or Electrical Engineering) is required. Candidates with
a Ph.D. in an appropriate field are preferred.
