Position: Paralegal I

Location: (970 Broad Street, Newark NJ 07102)

Compensation: $23.36/hr + $4.22 in Health and Welfare Coverage

Work Hours: 40 Hours Per week

Start Date: June 1st, 2021

We are bidding on this work and do not currently own this contract, we are looking for qualified candidates to submit on our proposal in order to win this work that will be starting June 1st, 2021

Before you can start you will also have to go through a Federal Background investigation. Common disqualifiers for government positions are poor credit scores (below 600 typically), outstanding loans such as student loans or mortgage, and any recent criminal history. If you do not pass the background investigation you will not be allowed to start on this contract if we are to win.

Duties (Per Statement of Work):Aitheras LLC is looking for a top notch candidate to perform Paralegal support services in support ofone or more AUSAs in support of one of our federal agency customers in Newark, NJ.This position is expected to start on June 1, 2021. However, employment is contingent onability to successfully obtain a minimum of a Public Trust Waiver prior to your start dateas well as the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Suitability Determination forthe duration of this positionOvertime and travel may be required as needed with proper authorization.Individual may support any division/section within depending on the needs of the office at timeof hire.The Paralegal is responsible for directly and independently supporting Assistant United StatesAttorneys (AUSAs) with assisting in a wide variety of technical paralegal services, includingdealings with healthcare fraud and drug investigations and trials and all other types of caseshandled by the Criminal and Civil Divisions. The work requires a sound working knowledge of thelegal system, legal research procedures, and sources of information.

Typical assignments include the following but not limited to:? Provide a variety of direct paralegal services to AUSA staff.? Compiles, prepares, and summarizes relevant materials for use by AUSA in discovery andin preparation of motions, briefs and other legal documents.? Seek and locate sources of information, in aid of criminal investigations and trials, throughcontact or correspondence with other departments and/or agencies of federal, state andlocal government.? Gather factual material independently; read, annotate, and summarize transcripts, filesand other factual aspects of the case; obtain financial and statistical information, agencyrecords, court records and other public records; review and analyze documents and draftfactual memoranda.? Perform specialized detailed legal research as necessary. Draft jury instructions and othertrial documents for filing in court.? Upload electronic documents and data onto document review platforms and organizefolders for review. Participate in review and analysis of electronic documents.

? Redact documents and transcripts for discovery, including using electronic redaction.? Responsible for organizing and processing huge quantities of data and discoverydocuments, including electronic discovery. Responsible for completeness of discoveryproductions and for producing discovery.? Prepare numerous exhibits for trial.? Provide critical assistance in trial preparations. Prepare documents, charts and visualmaterials for use in trials. Provide technical support, e.g., enlarging charts andphotographs and marking exhibits.? Provide automated litigation assistance to AUSAs in trial preparation and courtroompresentations. Utilize various software applications and graphics hardware such asscanners and plotters.? Work closely with other members of case team, including assigned AUSAs, legalassistants, case agents and office Litigation Support staff.? Performs other miscellaneous tasks.

The above mentioned duties may be performed as single functions or in combination with oneanother.Basic Qualifications:*Excellent written and oral communication skills.*Requires paralegal certificate, or Juris Doctorate, or currently attending an ABA-accredited lawschool, having completed at least one year of study.*At least one year of litigation paralegal experience required.*Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite checklegal motions and memorandum.*Must have sufficient experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw toperform basic legal research.*Thorough knowledge and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, includingword processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems),spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.*Role also requires basic familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures andresources.

*Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be veryimportant.*Ability to work and interact professionally and effectively with all levels of staff.*Ability to meet established deadlines and work as a team player in a professional office.*Skilled in meeting and dealing with people in a courteous and tactful manner.*Some walking, standing, bending and carrying of small office items*Ability to obtain a security clearance.*Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:*Experience working in a Government and/or Litigation Support environment in conjunction withbasic qualifications.*Trial experience very helpful.*Automated litigation support experience valued.*Ability to review a wide variety of documents, both legal and non-legal.*Current or active clearance.
