Experience must include both industrial building HVAC and Plumbing systems, laboratory areas as well as process applications such as dust collection systems and vapor management systems. In-depth knowledge of industry codes is mandatory.The selected candidate must be a team player and function as a Work Group Lead developing scope of services, work hour estimates and schedules that role up into the overall Mechanical discipline. Under broad direction, supervises and leads a small group of engineers and designers. Job role is responsible for a measurable asset such as an assigned staff and budget.This position is currently working remotely due to COVID-19 social distancing. Work may be asked to be performed up to 5 days per week at the home office located in Newark, DE when COVID-19 social distancing restrictions are lifted. However, work may maintain in a permanent work remote capacity based on office restrictions and project requirements.RESPONSIBILITESUnder general supervision, plans and executes the procurement of construction materials and services in support of project operationsResolve subcontract/construction related issuesRemain current in knowledge of sources of services and laborTake leadership in developing subcontract policies, procedures and practices, and in developing subcontract strategiesImplements, manages and monitors procurement reporting systems to meet project requirements, including SAP, eSourcing and IPMS, etc.May assign RFQ package assignments to appropriate procurement personnelMay review and approve bid tabulations and obtain project approvals as necessary.Negotiates with bidders to accomplish adherence on-time project schedulesMaintains knowledge of safety policies and procedures and perform assigned duties in a safe manner, and, if supervising others, has the responsibility for the safety of those being supervised and ensures they comply with established safety policies and procedures and practice safe work habits.REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in Engineering required; Mechanical discipline preferred10+ years (minimum) of experience in industrial and commercial design of HVAC and Plumbing systems.Professional Engineering License (P.E.) requiredWorking Experience with the following:Cooling towers, Chillers, Fans, Boilers, Pumps, AHUs, Heat Pumps, Humidification Systems, Hot Water Heaters.Designing Clean Room EnvironmentsDesigning Dust Collection SystemsDesign of plumbing systems including domestic hot/cold water lines and sanitary/waste lines.Ventilation for potential hazard mitigationFluent with national codes and standards (ICC, ASHRAE, SMACNA, and NFPA)HVAC Design Programs Including CHVAC, Trane Trace, AutoCAD and MicroStation.Building Automation and Control Systems.Working knowledge of other engineering disciplines and the ability to coordinate with them to meet design requirements.Ability to travel as needed to survey client sites.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with supervisory experience.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSTravel to client sites will comply with all KBR and Client Safety Rules, Processes and ProceduresWork at client sites may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed bootsWork at client sites may require moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas, ascending/descending stairs, walking the client propertyThis may include climbing ladders, lifting to up to 35 lbs, etc BENEFITS KBR offers a selection of competitive lifestyle benefits, which could include a 401K plan with company match, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, flexible spending account, disability, paid time off, or flexible work schedule.
