Job SummaryAs a key part of the MX Studio Products team, the Manufacturing Process Design Engineer will develop new ideas and methods for manufacture and assembly of construction industry products and assemblies by ideating, evaluating and down-selecting, defining & validating key production processes. They will provide efficient engineering support to the production areas through implementation and management of day-to-day production and process improvements, including DfM and DfA both in the factory and on site.This position is also responsible for analyzing operational processes to design, development, test, launch, continuously improve, and maintain the lifecycle of high-quality Construction components. In this role you will work closely with our manufacturing and supply chain partners on a wide variety of products and systems. You will work cross-functionally with product managers, software engineers, systems engineers, and program managers on digital products to enable automated deployment of these building products into physical building projects in service of our global pipeline.Essential Job Functions, Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities and skills required of personnel so classified.OperationalWork with manufacturing and supply partners to improve manufacturing processes for new construction industry products.Coordinates with Digital and Automation teams to ensure all process data is captured in digital systems.Provide solutions to identified production problems with particular reference to day-to-day running of the processes.Design, Development & Test (DDT): Perform engineering calculations and analysis and work with vendors to develop production part designs. Develop and/or review designs to ensure fit, form, and function are correct. Create and execute test plans to validate designs.Process optimization targeting to minimize the cost and maximize the output.Troubleshoot safety and quality problems and make recommendations to mitigate problems.Ensuring proper and timely technical review and verification of detailed designsLead and collaborate with a cross-functional team to bring product ideas to life.Problem-solve, train, direct, and communicate effectively and possess proficient organizational, interpersonal, and multi-tasking abilities.TechnicalEnsure DfM & DfA requirements are resolved & reflected in product designs and have ownership of process deliverables downstream of concept selection. Provide engineering and technical input (scoping, design, analysis, time and cost estimates, risk assessment) for introduction of new production processesPrepare, review and validate standard operating procedures (SOP's), and documentations for all products and processes.Establish and manage design schedules and engineering test plans.
