Job Description:

We're seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Assistant or Paralegal to support our growing legal team as long as you have work experience in family law, divorce and matrimonial cases in the state of New Jersey. The ideal candidate for this position will use their work experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research. The paralegal must have present experience dealing with matrimonial, and family/divorce law. This is not a personal injury law firm.

Responsibilities:
--- Assist attorneys in all aspects of family law matters
--- Assist in preparing legal documents: necessary pleadings & motions, letters, stipulations, and proposed orders, a summary of support calculations, subpoenas, emergency petitions, adoption and name change petitions, special relief petitions, pre-marital and post-nuptial settlement agreements
--- Assist with discovery requests
--- Assist attorney in preparation for court appearances
--- Maintains communications with clients, opposing counsel, experts, witnesses, etc
--- Utilize computer databases to organize, store, and access information
--- Assist with filing of court documents, including general knowledge of e-filing practices

Qualifications:
--- 2+ years of Law Practice experience under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting in New Jersey (not other states).
--- Completion of a nationally accredited legal assistant or paralegal program or degree is strongly preferred
--- Must have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar
--- Ability to prioritize and multitask
--- Must have excellent Microsoft Office experience
