Job Description:
About the role.The Scrum Master should be well versed in Agile
and Scrum methodologies and demonstrate the ability to coach teams
on how to apply the principles of Agile. The Scrum Master should
demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills. The
Scrum Master will be responsible for leading multiple teams.What
you'll do.Act as Scrum Master for 2 or more scrum teams, coaching
the teams to achieve higher levels of agile maturity at a
sustainable pace.Guides teams to be self-organized and motivate
teams to focus on team goals/objectivesRemove impediments and act
as a change agent to implement scrum across the
organizationFacilitate the agile ceremonies, such as backlog
refinement, sprint planning, retrospective, daily scrums, and
sprint demosFacilitate getting the work done effectively and
consensus-based methods in a matrixed environment. Ability to
influence without direct authority.Facilitate discussion, decision
making, and conflict resolutionCommunicationFoster internal team
communication by building a trusting and safe environment where
problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being
judged and with an emphasis on problem-solving.Assist with
communication with the broader IT teams and business stakeholders
to improve transparency and visibility into the team's progress and
impediments.Support and educate the product owner in their role of
grooming and maintaining the backlog and supporting the scrum
team.Support and ensure that methodologies are followed. Maintain
relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing (e.g.
burndown charts, etc.)What we're looking for.The ideal candidate
will be someone who:Certified scrum master/scrum practitionerAt
least 3 years experience in a scrum master role for a software
development team that was applying Scrum principles, practices, and
theoryKnowledge and experience of agile techniques: user stories,
ATDD, TDD, continuous integration, continuous testing, pairing,
agile gamesP&C Insurance experience preferred but not
requiredExcellent interpersonal, listening, written, and oral
communication skills, with the ability to communicate ideas to both
technical and business constituenciesExcellent coaching skillsPrior
experience with Rally (CA Agile Central) preferredThe base salary
for this role can range from $100K - $130K, based on a full-time
work schedule. An individual's ultimate compensation will vary
depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic
location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team
members with comparable experience.
