When you join the Global Technology organization at Prudential, you'll unlock a challenging and impactful career - all while growing your skills and advancing your profession at one of the world's leading financial services institutions.Prudential is seeking a Front End Developer to enhance and maintain Prudential's Financial Modeling and Risk platform that serves a wide variety of financial modelers, Traders, Actuarials and Risk Managers. -TARDIS is a flexible financial modeling platform for creating and reusing standardized modeling components and easily automating model runs (or any other business process). Our shared Python environment contains the standard data science stack as well as specialized libraries for quantitative modeling and analysis. TARDIS supports rapid deployment, reusable modules, and maintainable code that can respond quickly to market conditions and changing business requirements in a transparent, collaborative environment. Our flexible infrastructure allows analysts, quantitative researchers, developers, operations, QA testers, and traders to better respond to changing business needs in real-time.This candidate will develop functional and aesthetically pleasing web- and mobile-based applications based on usability, ensure all interactions are intuitive and convenient for users, and promote usability best practices. The candidate is an artist at heart, but the favorite medium is the computer, using their knowledge of programming languages to develop the aesthetics implemented within a website, from the layout menus and drop-down options to colors and fonts. - -Responsibilities: - - - - - - - - - - Collaborate with back-end developers to improve usability. -Drive software development activities to meet schedules and timelines; be a vocal advocate for high code quality, testing (both component and integration test coverage), and automation. -Research problems with a strong sense of ownership and develop solutions to address them. -Stay abreast of emerging technologies and how they can be applied within Prudential and the Tardis platform. -Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, -and improve software in a spirit of authentic partnership with colleagues both internal and external to the organization. -Manage individual project priorities, -deadlines, -and deliverables. -Required Skills and Experience: -Bachelor or master's degree in computer science or equivalent. -Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, -and design methodology. - -2-5 years of demonstrated experience in creating and implementing UI development. -Expert knowledge of user interface development tech stack and frameworks such as, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React or Angular, etc. -Knowledge of Python and related frameworks including Django, Flask, or Dash. -Familiar with various systems development lifecycles (SDLC, Agile). -Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. - -Self-learner, eager to work on any challenges. -Flexibility to work after normal business hours as needed. -Preferred qualifications: -Demonstrated interest in and ability to learn additional coding languages. -Knowledge with AWS or Google cloud is a plus. -Experience working in the financial services industry. -Knowledge of financial instruments, including Equities, Treasuries, and common Derivatives; actuarial or modeling experience is a plus. --Prudential Financial, Inc. of the United States is not affiliated with Prudential plc. which is headquartered in the United Kingdom.Prudential is a multinational financial services leader with operations in the United States, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
