JOB TITLE: Assistant Buyer, Foodservice Programs REPORTS TO: Manager, Foodservice Programs JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Buyer, Foodservice Programs role provides operational support to all levels of management in the stores. They partner with store management teams to improve the level of service and ensure that it is consistent with our culture, customer-service focus, multichannel retailing and merchandising standards in our Cafes. The Foodservice Assistant Buyer acts as the liaison among all levels of management, ensuring the coordination and successful execution of our programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures the operational consistency and standardization of Caf-- initiatives in order to meet or exceed financial goals
  • Analyzes financial results, providing feedback and coaching to store management on processes and procedures
  • Supports new store openings and remodels, providing training to ensure execution of the four core service principles of the Caf--
    • Ecolab setup
    • Coordination with Design & Construction and the new store team
    • Updates and maintains training materials including new Caf-- opening procedures, Turbo Chef, new manager/supervisor training and bookseller training
    • POS Entry and Maintenance
      • Set up new items
      • Set up POS register menu boards
      • Price Changes
      • Complies at all times with the Standards, policies and Code of Business Conduct and Ethics set out in the Bookseller Handbook. Job Requirements:REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
        • Two to Three Years of related food service or retail management experience. Internal candidate should possess at least one year of full component store experience, having successfully managed their stores.
        • Excellent customer service, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
        • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the interpersonal skills to present ideas to individuals and groups
          • Able to confront and manage issues appropriately with their field partners by providing timely information and direct; actionable feedback
          • Able to relate easily to people, building rapport and collaborative relationships
          • Creative thinking ability to develop fresh perspectives and new ideas while developing workable implementation plans
          • Must be able to travel 10% of each month to meetings and stores, potentially using various forms of transportation
          • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs. when working and merchandising in stores.
