Job Details - Location: Philadelphia, PA 19141 (Philadelphia healthcare / PA nursing jobs) - Assignment Type: Travel (Travel Nurse / Travel Nursing Job) - Setting: Operating Room (OR) – Level I Trauma Center (trauma nursing, perioperative nursing) - Start Date: April 20, 2026 - End Date: July 20, 2026 - Duration: 13 weeks (13-week travel assignment) - Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM) - Hours per Week: 36 - Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,360 - $2,480/week - Patient Population: Adults - Unit Size: 14 OR rooms, daily census of ~30 surgical cases Job Requirements / Qualifications - Active PA or compact state Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission (Registered Nurse / RN) - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required - Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in a Level I Trauma setting (trauma RN experience required) - Previous travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers) - Experience with liver and kidney transplant surgeries and other complex surgical cases (transplant surgery experience preferred) - Charge nurse experience required (leadership / charge RN) - Experience with Cerner electronic charting system preferred (Cerner EMR) - BLS certification required - NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred - Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted) - Must be able to float to GI unit or Center One Surgery Center as needed (flexible surgical nursing assignments) - Must be able to work two weekend nights and one summer & one winter holiday per 6-week schedule (on-call / holiday rotations) - Compliance with Pennsylvania fingerprinting and onboarding requirements Responsibilities - Provide direct perioperative patient care in the Operating Room, functioning as both circulating and scrub nurse as needed (OR RN, perioperative RN) - Demonstrate clinical expertise across trauma, transplant, cardiovascular, neurology, and vascular surgical cases (surgical nurse responsibilities) - Assist and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response - Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner electronic medical records (EMR documentation) - Float to other surgical units and outpatient surgery centers as required - Participate in scheduled on-call rotations for weekends and holidays - Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and surgical safety standards (patient safety / quality care) - Provide patient and family education throughout the surgical experience and support perioperative care coordination Experience the best of Philadelphia while advancing your career in a fast-paced, supportive Level I Trauma Center.
