Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 02/09/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Pediatric ICU RN – New Jersey Start Date: February 9, 2026 Location: Newark, New Jersey Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 13-week assignment, every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday), 19-bed PICU with potential float to Pediatrics and NICU based on skill set and needs Highlights: Primary assignment in a dynamic Pediatric Intensive Care Unit caring for critically ill infants, children, and adolescents Patient ratios typically 1:2, with variation based on acuity (1:1 to 1:3 step-down) Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Radiology Epic electronic medical record system Advanced critical care experience with cardiac patients, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring Required scrub color: Navy Blue Requirements: Active New Jersey or Compact State RN license required at time of submission Minimum 2 years of PICU critical care experience required; 1 year cardiac experience strongly preferred BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred Previous travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted) Demonstrated competency in BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care Experience with Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry monitoring required Proficiency with Epic charting system required Must be willing to float to Pediatrics and NICU for appropriate assignments Must be available to work 2 of 3 holidays during contract period Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of critically ill children and their families while working within a well-supported, collaborative healthcare environment.
