Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/02/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse – New Jersey Start Date: February 2, 2026 Location: Newark, New Jersey Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 13-week assignment, every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday), 12-hour shifts Highlights: - 19-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with diverse critical care patient population - Patient ratios of 1:2 for PICU assignments, varying based on acuity and unit needs - Epic electronic medical records system - Interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and social services - Opportunity to float to Pediatrics and NICU based on skills and appropriate assignments - Work with advanced equipment including Medtronic pacemakers, ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and telemetry monitoring Requirements: - Active New Jersey or Compact state RN license required at time of submission - Minimum 2 years of PICU critical care experience required (must be documented) - 1 year of cardiac experience strongly preferred - Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted - BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred - Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care required - Proficiency with Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry monitoring required - Epic charting system experience required - Must be willing to float within skillset to Pediatrics and NICU as needed - Previous charge experience preferred Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers experienced pediatric critical care nurses the chance to work in a dynamic PICU environment with a diverse case mix and advanced technology.
