ARMStaffing is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Newark, New Jersey. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 01/26/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse - Stepdown / PCU Location New Jersey Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Job Description The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality nursing care in Stepdown and PCU settings, managing complex patients including heart, lung, and kidney transplant patients. The role requires strong skills in LVAD management, titration of insulin, and cardiac drips. Responsibilities Manage care for patients with heart and lung transplants, pulmonary hypertension, and related conditions. Perform frequent neurological assessments and manage multiple organ issues. Implement pain management and ostomy care protocols. Handle intravenous medications, including insulin and cardiac drips. Provide care for drug ingestion or overdose cases requiring monitoring. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure 2 years of experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown units. Experience in a Level II trauma center; experience in Level I and teaching hospitals is highly preferred. Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required.
