Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Newark, NJ Agency: Revolution Healthcare Services Pay: $2,540 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/26/2026 About the Position Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown RN – New Jersey Start Date: January 26, 2026 Location: Newark, New Jersey Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 13-week assignment, every other weekend required, must be available 2 of 3 holidays Highlights: Advanced cardiac stepdown unit specializing in heart failure, transplant, LVAD, and pulmonary hypertension management 1:4 patient ratio based on acuity and staffing levels Level II Trauma Center with teaching hospital environment Sophisticated cardiac drip titration and critical monitoring experience required Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams 34-bed unit serving adult and geriatric populations with complex medical needs Requirements: Active New Jersey or Compact state RN license required at time of submission Minimum 2 years of PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I and Teaching Hospital experience highly preferred ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required at time of submission Strong LVAD management experience required (hard stop) Demonstrated competency in titration of insulin drips and cardiac drips required Experience with transplant patients (heart, lung, kidney) and post-operative neurosurgical patients preferred Epic charting experience required Must be available to float within skillset as needed Patient Population & Key Skills: Heart failure, cardiac rhythm disorders, LVAD, pulmonary hypertension, and transplant management Trach/ventilated patients with multi-organ issues Neurologic disorders including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injuries Drug ingestion and overdose requiring frequent monitoring GI bleeding, acute liver failure, and ostomy care Pain management and substance withdrawal protocols Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work in a high-acuity, teaching hospital environment where you'll gain invaluable experience managing some of the most complex cardiac and transplant patients.
