Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/22/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position with night shifts and every other weekend requirements in Newark, NJ. Responsibilities - Work in a Level IV NICU caring for neonatal patients - Night shifts are required, with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00–07:30) - Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) work is expected, but may be adjusted as needed - Patient ratio ranges from 1:2 to 1:5 depending on assignment - Will float to NBN, Pediatrics, and PICU units as needed based on skills and hospital demand - Experience with vents and intubated patients required; central line experience preferred - Will not care for Level 4 patients, ECMO cases, or fresh post-ops - Uses CribNotes and Epic for charting - Will not attend high risk deliveries - First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment - Scrub color is Navy Blue - Previous RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year to be eligible - Locals are accepted at the same rate Requirements - Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration - BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications are required - Minimum of 1.5 years acute care experience required - Experience with neonatal ventilators and intubated patients is required - EPIC charting experience is preferred Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-642772.
