ChristianaCare is recruiting a Trauma Surgeon to join a collegial group of 10 fellowship-trained Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgeons at our Level 1 Trauma Center in Newark, Delaware. Qualified applicants will be board certified in general surgery and board eligible or certified for added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care. Applicants will be expected to participate in trauma call and rotational coverage of the trauma service, emergency general surgery, and our 22-bed surgical intensive care unit. Ideal candidates will take an active interest and participation in the education of medical students, residents, and surgical critical care fellows. Dedication to surgical research is a desired qualification.
ChristianaCare Hospital in Newark, Delaware, is part of the ChristianaCare, a Magnet - non-profit health care organization, with over 1,300 beds between three hospitals (ChristianaCare Hospital, Wilmington Hospital, & Union Hospital). It is the only Level I trauma center on the East Coast corridor situated between Philadelphia and Baltimore with a wide catchment area that draws from PA, NJ, MD and DE. We also serve as the tertiary referral center for the state of Delaware.
