We have an exciting, immediate opening available for an experiencedEHS Lead in Newark, DE location. This is a full-time permanentopportunity reporting to the VP of Operations and Quality.We are a 100+ year-old global industry leader in developing andmanufacturing premier water testing solutions. We are expanding andopening a new manufacturing site due to expansive business growth.The new facility, located in Newark, DE will operate 24/7 and willemploy 50+ employees within the first year and 100+ soon thereafter.We have an amazing culture and have been ranked as the Best Place toWork in Kent County, MD for the 3rd year in a row now!!!Our Newark site is slated to be operational in September, we arehiring employees now and will provide daily mileage reimbursementfor each day that you train onsite in our Chestertown, MD facility.This is the perfect opportunity to work in a start-up-likeenvironment but have the backing of a well-established, high-growthcompany with great benefits included!Main Function:Responsible for leading environmental, health and safety (EHS)activities at the Newark, DE site and serves as the site EHS subjectmatter expert (SME).Environmental Factors and Physical Demands:Works indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. Nosignificant exertion required. Requires good interrelationships withemployees and regulatory agencies.Duties and Responsibilities:Works safely and actively engages others to do the same.*Oversees and documents Company compliance with state, federal andinternational safety, health, and environmental regulations.*Oversees and documents Company hazardous material, handling, anddisposal program. Actively seeks waste recycling, wasteminimization alternatives in keeping with the Company's good productstewardship policy.*Provides workplace safety training programs for all Newarkemployees in compliance with OSHA regulations. Works with allemployees to identify and eliminate workplace hazards throughaudits, gembas, JSA's JHA's and other techniques.*Actively participates in incident investigations and serves as SMEon compliance requirements. Assists managers and supervisors ineffective use of safety RCCA methods.Maintains site EHS performance metrics, action plans and drives thetimely closure of action items.*Leads the site Safety Steering Team.*Serves as a primary emergency response coordinator.*Oversees and documents Company compliance with DOT, IATA, IMDG, andother shipping regulations.*Assists in the design & selection of new equipment, engineeringcontrols and installations, and personal protective equipment (PPE).Develops, writes Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for new, highhazard processes.*Assists R&D, Marketing and production staff with new productscompliance and specific documentation projects.*Coordinates employee industrial hygiene monitoring as needed toensure OSHA compliance.*Ensures proper maintenance of PPE and other safety supplies.*Stays up to date on state and federal environmental, health andsafety regulations.*Performs other duties as assigned.Physical Requirements:Works indoors in temperature-controlled environment.Requires moving around the plant to interact with employees,managers, visitors, etc. and attend meetings.May travel to our Chestertown, MD site, offsite trainingseminar/workshops, meetings, etc.Experience and Skills:Qualifications/Requirements:Minimum of B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent education/experience inthe sciencesExperience in leading EHS compliance activities in chemical orrelated manufacturing facilities.Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910 and EPA hazardous wasterequirements.Excellent oral and written communication skills.You must demonstrate action orientation and a sincere concern forthe safety and health of all employees.Insurances: health, dental, vision, life, short-term disability,long-term disability, critical illness and accident401(k): Company provides 4% discretionary contributions each payperiod and matches 25% up to the first 6% of employees'contributions each pay periodFlexible Spending AccountEmployee Assistance ProgramVacation TimeSick TimeHoliday PayTuition AssistanceTravel AssistanceCorporate discounts to YMCA membership and Aquafit membership If you are having difficulties with the application process, please click here
