Position Summary

Independence & Conflicts Network (ICN) - Professional & Regulatory Matters Senior Manager

Work you'll do

As a Senior Manager on the Professional & Regulatory Matters team, you'll use your analytical, research and investigative skills by:

* Analyzing and researching industry-specific regulations and standards;
* Leading development of changes to policy documents and/or implementation tools by assimilating various regulations and standards into concise policies and implementation guidance and tools for firm practitioners to follow and understand;
* Identifying need for new or enhanced guidance and implementation tools based on understanding of internal and external independence inspection results;
* Drafting and reviewing firm policy and guidance, providing and organizing feedback with ICN and other firm leadership;
* Monitoring the activities of regulators and standard-setters from pre-exposure draft stages to final rule issuance to identify updates to regulations and standards, understanding impacts of new rules on existing rule sets, and summarizing - both orally and in writing - those impacts;
* Summarizing and clearly articulating changes to policy, guidance and/or implementation tools to firm practitioners;
* Managing multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously;
* Communicating, both orally and in writing, key project milestones;
* Working both independently and in a team environment;
* Establishing, developing and maintaining working relationships with leadership team and partners, locally and globally;
* Proactively demonstrating thought leadership and strategic direction in the area of independence policy development and implementation tools;
* Analyzing, interpreting, applying, and effectively communicating the requirements and impact of newly issued regulations/professional standards;
* Initiating and leading coordination with Subject Matter Experts and Global Independence leadership on policy and firm implementation tools related matters;
* Develop and train newer professionals on policy and implementation tool related matters;
* Participating on special projects as needed.

Independence & Conflicts Network

The Independence & Conflicts Network (ICN) performs a critical consultative, quality-assurance and risk-management function for the Deloitte US Firms, helping the organization remain unbiased and free from conflicts-of-interest, in fact and appearance, when providing service to attest/audit clients. Independence requirements are defined by specific sets of policies, external rules and regulations, so maintaining both the independence of the Deloitte US Firms and personal independence is essential to the business and reputation of Deloitte.



* Bachelors' degree (preferably business, finance or accounting)
* 8+ years of policy development related experience
* Policy writing and editing experience in either Accounting or Independence
* Experience with accounting and/or Independence pronouncements, standards and rules
* Outstanding attention to detail along with strong technical, organizational and analysis skills
* Strong oral and written communications
* Strong technical and organizational skills
* Limited immigration sponsorship may be available


* Demonstrates extensive knowledge and/or proven success working with professional and regulatory requirements affecting audits of financial statements, and in particular, the independence rules established by the SEC, AICPA, PCAOB, IESBA, and other relevant regulators and standard-setters, preferably in a global network of professional services firms.
* S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
* Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP standards
* An understanding of Independence requirements for professional auditing firms
* Public accounting or consulting experience

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado or Nevada, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and the State of Nevada and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $104,575.00 to $154,070.00

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance
