financial services, to apply.Job DescriptionSVBFG is seeking to
appoint a Director of Product Risk Management reporting to the
Senior Director, ERM Programs. The qualified candidate will
understand risk management practices related to risk assessment of
existing and new products in line with regulatory expectations. The
role leads the oversight, development, implementation, and
management of Standards related to product change governance
including new products and variations to existing products. This
position supports the execution of a holistic enterprise risk
management program in the context of the firm operating in a safe
and sound manner consistent with the company's risk appetite and
regulatory requirements and expectations.The Director Product Risk
Management will construct and implement a company-wide product risk
management process. The ideal candidate will be an experienced
practitioner in the subject matter of new product approval and
product risk management. The successful candidate must be able to
successfully influence a diverse audience of professionals
including their peers, management, and the board along with
effectively communicating when required to regulators. Therefore,
the candidate must possess outstanding oral and written
communication skills, and be able to communicate complex concepts,
highlighting the risks and opportunities to SBVFG.The candidate
will be able to demonstrate success at building programs,
attracting and retaining talented individuals as well as taking an
active role in developing and mentoring at all levels. In addition,
the candidate will have proven leadership skills, excellent
operational knowledge, strong employee development credentials and
a dedication to process improvement. Key Accountabilities
- Lead the ERM Product Risk Management team to ensure effective
risk management over new and existing products.
- Leads the execution of a Product Risk Management strategic
vision and establish standards for and ensures on-going processes
for improving oversight over product change across the
- Establish relationships and reporting timeline with 1st and 2nd
LOD data sources to ensure timely delivery and attestation of
- Design and achieve consensus/buy-in and create and execute an
industry leading, "best in class" Product Risk Management program.
- Embeds a strong risk culture related to Product change
throughout the company to promote transparency and accountability
for the risks inherent in new products and activities across the
jurisdictions and partnerships of SVBFG.
- Serves as the primary interface with the company's primary
regulators on Product Risk and product change governance.
- Oversee the development of materials and artifacts to support
the ERM Program and related activities. Client Management
(internal): Interact with our business partners, facilitating
meetings / workshops / training sessions. Superb relationship
building and relationship management skills are required.
- Leads, recruits, directs, motivates, and develops the Product
Risk Management team, maximizing their individual contribution,
their professional growth, and their ability to function
effectively with their colleagues as a team and/or lead. Provides
real time and constructive feedback at the most critical
- Responsible for the achievement of functional goals and
objectives. Ensures teams are equipped to operationalize and attain
global strategic objectives. Ensures appropriate financial and
human resource allocation.PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- BA or BS or equivalent work experience required; MBA and/or
other graduate degree preferred with a minimum of 10+ years of
relevant risk management experience.
- Direct experience designing and implementing Risk Management
Programs working in a first or second-line risk role within a
financial institution, or consulting experience advising financial
institutions on the implementation of effective Risk Management
- 1st and/or 2nd LOD experience in risk management within a large
financial institution, preferably within Operational or Enterprise
- Previous success executing change within global, complex
business structures in a matrixed reporting environment. Ability to
set both the strategy and deliver against operational
- Proven track record as a successful risk leader within a
leading, respected and relevant financial institution applying risk
disciplines with high standards of delivery in a timely, cost
effective way. A highly successful career built on a progressive

- Superb knowledge of risk management and the applicable
compliance regime including designing, developing and implementing
risk programs, policies, processes, procedures and regulatory risk
assessments. Proven industry expert, with a track record of making
decisions, leading consensus building and negotiating.Skills and

qualitative data to tell a compelling story.
- A dynamic individual with strong leadership qualities and the
ability to set a strategic vision for Product Risk Management.
- Working knowledge of banking regulations within risk management
and bank-capital related disciplines.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, and the
ability to interface with, and influence key internal and external
stakeholders and foster collaboration.
- Strong leadership and management skills with a proven ability
to build and lead high performing teams
- Excellent project management skills and ability to provide
clear direction, motivate teams and drive performance.
- Awareness of applicable regulatory guidance and prior
experience implementing within a large financial institution.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, applicable at all levels
across the business. Adept at building an internal as well as
external network. Proven experience of delivering through people by
collaborating and leveraging relationships and building
- A self-starter with energy and burning drive for results. A
high degree of self-motivation with a strong track record of
execution and delivery.
