Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIESEmbryology Clinical:Follow the laboratory's
procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses,
reporting and maintaining records of patient test
results.Maintained records that demonstrate that PT samples are
tested in the same manner as patient specimens.Adhere to the
laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control
activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance
performed.Follow the laboratory's established policies and
procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's
established acceptable levels of performance.Be capable of
identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or
reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or
immediately notify the Medical Director.Document all corrective
actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's
established performance specifications.Study and review laboratory
operating manual and become familiar with quality assurance,
quality control, safety procedures and operating guidelines for
performing laboratory services.Study and review OSHA requirements
for safe laboratory operation.Participate in Laboratory Operations
as directed.Perform laboratory services under supervision to gain
proficiency.Obtain certification to perform laboratory services on
independent basis.Have a comprehensive understanding of and follow
all OSHA requirements for safe laboratory operations. Always wear
required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a safe
laboratory environment.Clinical Research ResponsibilitiesOur
IVIAmerica cohort of clinics are in constant communications and
continually working together to provide only the best laboratory
care for our patients around the country. Our Basking Ridge
laboratory often provides both research and troubleshooting support
to our sister clinics around the country. Our successful candidate
should:Be able to initiate, execute and discuss research projects
that focus on real world clinical embryology challenges to both
physicians and our network embryologists.Review data trends and be
in frequent communication with physicians regarding clinical embryo
developmental trends and causation.General/AdministrativeDocument
patient care services by charting in patient computer database and
departmental records and filing clinical documents.Maintain safe
and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules,
and regulations, and calling for assistance from other health care
support personnel when appropriate.Protect patients and employees
by adhering to infection-control and laboratory safety policies and
protocols.Is available for on-call duty as necessary.Participate in
patient education and communication with
co-workers.REQUIREMENTSDoctoral degree in a relevant scientific
discipline with HCLD or ELD certification.Must be able to work
