ASSISTANT POOL MANAGER Seasonal Position, 30-40 hrs/week Pleasant Valley Pool, SALARY: Starting at $6,500/season, commensurate with experience. Additional hourly rate for pool facility use supervision prior to opening hours. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Assists the Manager and oversees the day-to-day operation of Pleasant Valley Pool, including maintenance and staff. Work is performed under general supervision of the Director and Assistant Director. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Responsible for supervision of 60+ pool staff, including Lifeguard Supervisors, lifeguards, customer relations, maintenance, activities coordinator, and swim team coaches. Ability to implement and supervise all aspects of operations. Ability to perform water chemistry testing for entire site as well as check mechanical operations daily and adjust equipment for proper water chemistry levels. Initiate and implement safety regulations and procedures and project needs for equipment, materials and supplies. Ability to respond to requests, questions and complaints regarding operations and maintenance of the pool and conduct of patrons and employee issues. Ability to handle problems with the application of the Pool's policies and procedures. Perform hourly facility checks for safety and cleanliness. Supervises Early Bird Swim hours (6am-9am) prior to pool opening. Ability to secure all locks, fences and buildings as well as set the alarm system. Knowledge of the maintenance and operation of a pool facility and equipment, materials and supplies used in pool maintenance is preferred. Knowledge of lifeguarding skills and training is preferred. Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication, organizational and writing skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and carry it for 100 feet. Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Education: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university. Prefer major course work in recreation or related field, but not required. Licensing &/or Certifications: Valid driver's license. Certified Pool Operator and CPR/First Aid certification preferred but not mandatory. Experience: At least one year of aquatic facility management experience preferred. Special Requirements: * Will be required to attend pre-season workdays for preparing the pool facility as well as staff orientation dates. * Will be required to pass a background check. ***NOTE: Please read the attached full job description prior to applying for this position.
