The VP, MIS Strategic Engagement Lead, Americas is responsible for identifying, developing and managing internal and external communications strategies and campaigns to advance MISs strategic priorities. The candidate will identify communications needs based on a deep understanding of evolving strategic priorities and develop a portfolio of communications campaigns for implementation by regional communications team members.

  • Responsible for developing and managing internal and external communications campaigns to advance MIS strategic priorities in the Americas, and MCOs overall corporate strategy.
  • Identifies communications needs based on a deep understanding of MISs evolving strategic priorities and knowledge of media and market interest
  • Develops and maintains an evolving portfolio of communications campaigns in the Americas for implementation by regional communications team members.
  • Provides strategic counsel on media and market interest in relevant topics and on communications strategy, both internal and external.
  • Supports MIS internal and executive communications needs to support organizational objectives. Coordinates with Internal and Executive Communications teams as needed for execution.
  • Reports on the impact and effectiveness of communications activities
  • Facilitates ongoing coordination with regional communications team leaders to ensure smooth execution of communications campaigns.
    • Bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of direct experience in Communications, including proactive media relations
    • Strong familiarity with credit ratings process and global financial media.
    • Proven experience managing and motivating a communications team for high performance.
    • Experience in media reporting and metrics, benchmarking and objective setting
    • Strong influencing and leadership skills.
    • Action oriented, proactive style.
    • Excellent writing and presentation skills
    • Energetic and results-oriented attitude, willingness to embrace new ideas and drive change
    • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose issues and develop practical solutions.

      Additional Qualifications
      • Strategic vision: Proactive approach with an ability to champion and drive change in a new organizational model to achieve strategic objectives.
      • Industry knowledge: knowledge on credit ratings, key characteristics and dynamics of capital and credit markets and related communications opportunities. Knowledge of the capital markets / media ecosystem is essential.
      • Executive leadership presence and strong communication skills ability to effectively influence senior leaders, broker solutions, and drive alignment.
      • Strong leadership and management skills track record of managing and continuing to develop a strong team, building trust and rapport quickly and inspiring results. Ability to articulate vision and direction, communicate effectively, and manage and measure team performance and accountability.
      • High autonomy in achieving business objectives and result oriented: strong drive to improve business results and ability to make decisions, and a desire to execute flawlessly.

The department includes Internal Communications, Executive Visibility, Social and Creative Content, Corporate Media Relations, Business Unit Communications, Brand Strategy and Management, Corporate Marketing and Regional Communications for the Americas, EMEA and APAC. The teams focus is to deliver clear and consistent messages for internal and external stakeholders that builds awareness of Moodys contributions to global capital markets through its research, ratings and products.
