Job Classification:Finance & Accounting - Finance & AccountingThe Annuities Capital Strategy team, part of the broader Retirement Strategies Finance team, is responsible for managing strategic capital and liquidity projects for new business initiatives, pricing and hedging strategies, reinsurance initiatives, and new products. Additionally, the team manages the reporting of Required Capital, GAAP equity, and capital cash flows for the Annuities business. - The team interacts with various areas throughout Retirement Strategies, as well as throughout Financial Management, including the Chief Investment Office (Global Portfolio Management, Modeling & Analytics, and Trading & Hedge Management), Actuarial, Treasurers, Enterprise Risk Management and Tax. Thus, the ability to partner effectively with other Retirement Strategies areas, Domestic Business counterparts and Corporate, is critical. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for: -

  • Playing a central role in the finance aspect of strategic enterprise initiatives, including programmatic M&A and opportunistic reinsurance of liabilities
  • Leading the finance aspect of new product rollouts and other product-related initiatives by collaborating with Annuities Product Development, Pricing, and other business partners
  • Understanding and analyzing risks of various initiatives to determine the appropriate capital and liquidity treatment
  • Working on cross functional teams on the development and implementation of capital and borrowing frameworks
  • Leading evaluation and execution of inforce capital management solutions through capital markets or reinsurers
  • Leading discussions on strategy projects with senior level internal and external audiences Overseeing quarterly capital reporting processThe position will require the individual to have or to gain a solid understanding of financial results on GAAP, statutory and tax reporting bases, and the ability to translate these into meaningful financial analytics as inputs to strategic business decisions.Qualifications:
    • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or business-related field is preferred
    • 7+ years of financial management/analysis/research experience with exceptional analytical skills
    • Progress towards or commitment to a CFA or MBA is preferred
    • Demonstrated leadership and partnering skills
    • Strong knowledge of insurance and actuarial concepts, GAAP, statutory and tax accounting, and Annuities products
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving experience are required
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills
    • Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and lead multiple projects simultaneously
