For more information, please visit www.prudential.com.The Vice President & Actuary, Head of Annuity Pricing, is a highly visible senior executive in the Annuities business system, reporting to the Annuities Chief Actuary. This leader has oversight for all annuity pricing activities, including: product design analysis and pricing of Prudential's retail variable and fixed annuity products and optional benefits; pricing models, methodologies, and assumptions; and pricing of strategic new business initiatives. This critical senior role has frequent interaction with the Annuities president and senior leadership team, corporate and executive senior management, key external parties and other stakeholders. The Pricing lead is a member of the Annuities Actuarial senior leadership team and plays a critical role in strategic collaborations, prioritization, communications, and talent matters across Annuities Actuarial.Primary responsibilities of the role include:

• End-to-end product pricing, including pricing models and methodologies, pricing analysis in support of new product development and rate-setting/re-pricing recommendations
• Development and recommendation of pricing assumptions, in partnership with the Annuities Assumptions team and other key functions
• Communication of pricing matters to stakeholders and senior management in multiple formats/forums, including expert discussion of results, drivers, risks, and other insights to inform/influence business decisions
• Partnership with the Annuities business, in particular the Product organization, in co-creating products, rate-setting, and other new business decisions and initiatives--
• Collaboration and influence with corporate and control partners to drive sound consideration of Annuities in new business frameworks and governance
• Transformation of pricing processes, capabilities, infrastructure, and ways of working to align with the Annuities business strategy and Actuarial of the Future vision
• Risk-smart adherence to controls and professional standards of practice
• Representation of Pricing and/or Annuities Actuarial in strategic initiatives and councils/committees as appropriate
• Leadership of a team of approximately 25 actuaries from entry-level to vice president, located across multiple sites
• Pricing team climate, engagement, talent development, and inclusion & diversity; constructive engagement on broader business and functional talent objectives
• Other responsibilities as appropriateQualifications:
  • FSA with at least 10 years of actuarial experience
  • Broad leadership experience, preferably leading large teams and/or actuarial functions
  • Deep technical knowledge, including variable and fixed annuity products and pricing concepts and best practices
  • Strong business acumen and industry knowledge
  • Ability to effectively lead multiple complex initiatives within a matrix operating environment, including demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence business and corporate stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, including the communication of technical subject matter to non-technical and senior audiences
  • Proven track record of being a strategic thinker, creative, innovative, and execution-oriented
  • Strong talent mindset and skillset, including leading leaders, talent development, performance management, coaching, organizational design and strategy, and change management
