Mechanical Engineer 2

The Mechanical Engineer 2, R&D, Continuous Product Improvement
works within the R&D
team to support existing products. This includes Design
Improvements, Regulatory Compliance
changes, End of Life (EOL) Support, Service Requests and Cost
Saving Initiatives. The Engineer
is responsible for a wide range of activities including mechanical
design changes, component
selection, testing, documentation, and implementation.
What To Expect:
Implement design changes in complex electro-mechanical devices and
systems for mammography,breast biopsy, specimen radiography and
other products.
Support the replacement of obsolete components, product
improvements, cost reduction,manufacturing support, and field
complaints.
Design using multiple fabrication methods and materials, e.g.,
injection molding, castings,machining, and sheet metal.
Provide route cause analysis, develop reliability testing
procedures and fixtures, and generateappropriate design
verification reports.
Participate in the manufacture or building of test assemblies and
fixtures required for mechanicalverification.
Create parts, assemblies, and detail drawings, utilizing software
such as SolidWorks and SolidWorksPDM for CAD data management.
Create change orders using an electronic product data management
system (such as Agile) forengineering change management.
Engage and coordinate with cross-functional team members as
needed.
What We Expect:
Bachelor's Degree (Technical Field Preferred) with 3+ years, May
have Master's Degree (Mechanical Engineering or related discipline)
with 0-2 years.
Knowledge of Electro-Mechanical product development.
Knowledge of SolidWorks 3D modeling and PDM, 2D drafting, CAD data
management.
Knowledge of fabrication methods (DFM) including machined and sheet
metal parts.
Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
Proficient with Windows Explorer, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel,
and MS PowerPoint.
Beneficial:
Knowledge of fabrication methods for molded parts, metal castings
and extrusions.
Experience with medical device or FDA regulated environment.
Agile, Oracle experience
Strong working knowledge of SPC, Six Sigma, and/or other
statistical process controlmethods

The annualized base salary range for this role is $72,000 to
$112,000 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will
ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience,
skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and
market demand.
