Construction Project Manager Department: Office of Property
Management Administration Reports To: Director of Construction
Classification: Exempt General Description The Construction Project
Manager researches, plans, and manages environmental and
building-related projects for the Archdiocese, with an emphasis on
regulatory compliance and remediation efforts, including
underground storage tank (UST) projects and asbestos abatement. The
position also assists with general construction projects as
assigned. Specific Duties/Responsibilities The following specific
responsibilities are representative of the duties required in this
position. They may be unilaterally but reasonably changed based on
the working environment and departmental needs. Plans, manages, and
oversees environmental and remediation-related projects, including
UST projects, asbestos abatement, and other regulatory-driven
initiatives. Calculates project costs and evaluates feasibility,
scope, and compliance requirements. Represents the owner in
obtaining, coordinating, and reviewing bids, and assists in
awarding construction and environmental service contracts.
Administers construction and environmental contracts, including
negotiation of change orders when required. Conducts regular
on-site observations and coordination of work to monitor progress,
compliance, and quality. Performs short- and long-term evaluations
of facility and environmental needs. Prioritizes and schedules
projects to meet regulatory deadlines and operational requirements.
Coordinates and manages an active workload of 25 projects
simultaneously. Prepares reports and documentation related to
project status, compliance, and completion. Other duties as
assigned. Qualifications/Skills Ability to work effectively as part
of a project team with commitment to customer service. Strong
written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with facility
construction, environmental remediation, and restoration practices.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements
related to USTs, asbestos, and similar projects is preferred. Must
have a valid New Jersey Driver’s License and a clean driving
record. Education and/or Experience (Preferred) A basic college
degree is preferred Relevant professional experience in
construction management, environmental projects, or regulatory
compliance may be substituted for formal education. Physical
