Operations Senior Specialist Company Summary: Distinguished Programs is a growing, entrepreneurial national insurance program manager who provides specialty insurance programs to brokers and agents. Based in mid-town Manhattan, we are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Senior Operations Specialist. Job Summary: Provide strategic and tactical support to the organization. This may be accomplished through leading and managing process improvement projects from beginning to end; the analysis and interpretation of data to prioritize work; facilitation of improvement workshops for core (New Business, Renewal Business, Endorsements) and supporting processes leading to creative business solutions; and/or through direct involvement in designing a sustainable infrastructure for measuring the value of process improvement projects. This position will interact with multiple internal departments (across all divisions and programs) and stakeholders including IT, Analytics, Accounting and various Program Management teams. This position will report to the Vice President of Operations. Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage small to large scale process improvement projects based on project prioritization from the divisions and alignment to corporate goals. Proactively identify, effectively assess improvement opportunities, execute and build controls with project management rigor. Focus on evaluating and solving for a specifically defined and scoped problem.
  • Facilitate and lead large revenue generating or expense saving projects across divisions and programs. Apply project management, change management and lean methodologies to the lifecycle of the project.
  • Work with IT and Analytics to design and develop standard reports for metric reporting and analysis to support a structured approach for process improvement projects. Work with business areas to design, build, enhance, and deliver data analytic dashboards and reports that align with strategy. Reporting work will include capturing and benchmarking current activities to future/desired state. Act as process owner to support department leads in communicating, distributing and evaluating results.
  • Strategize and design a sustainable infrastructure of process excellence across the company in a way that is expandable for future acquisitions.
  • Support multiple on-going projects from a data, inventory, clean-up or process perspective. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
    • Bachelor degree required; will consider all majors Licenses/Certificates
      • Business Process Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, etc) required
      • Project Management training or PMP preferred
      • Change Management certification or experience preferred
      • 3-5 years in related disciplines
      • Property & Casualty Insurance Industry experience within a Program Manager / Retail Broker / Carrier organization is preferred but not required.
      • Behavioral/Technical Skills
      • Strong Expert level Microsoft Excel
      • Working knowledge of MS Visio
      • Mathematics/Analytical education or experience a plus
      • Strong interpersonal & communication skills (verbal and written)
      • Strong analytical and interpretive skills
      • Strong organizational skills
      • Strong leadership, influencing and negotiation skills
      • Ability to adapt to change Salary and Benefits:
