Job Description:
Accountant Staff Senior A manufacturing company located in
Central New Jersey is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant
to support the growth of its operations. General Purpose: As the
accountant, you will maintain accurate financial reporting for the
month-end and year-end closing process. This role will work closely
with the finance team to ensure compliance with accounting
standards, manage general ledger entries, and provide analysis and
insights to support business decisions. This position will have
exposure to all operational groups within the company. Specific
Responsibilities: Prepare detailed financial reports and variance
analysis. Provide insights on economic performance to management.
Preparing monthly bank reconciliations. Post journal entries,
accruals, and adjustments to the ledger Oversee accounts payable
and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate recording and
timely payments/collections. Manage and analyze cost accounting
data, including inventory valuation, production costs, and overhead
analysis, to optimize financial performance. Work with the
manufacturing team to identify cost-saving opportunities and
improvements. Maintaining and reconciling fixed asset and
depreciation schedules. Other duties and projects as required
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting desired 5
years of experience and proficiency with computerized accounting
systems Key Competencies: Strong understanding of US GAAP,
accounting theory, and month-end close procedures. Experience with
cost accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis in
manufacturing. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to
manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong communication
and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively
across departments.
